Energy recruiter Spencer Ogden has unveiled its new mining division – the eighth division of its business, as it aims to be the sector’s “first fully end-to-end recruiter”, according to a company statement.

Graeme Lingenfelder leads the division. Formerly the managing director of technical recruiter RGB Network, he joined Spencer Ogden in February.
Lingenfelder says: “The mining sector will face huge challenges in recruitment and retention over the next decade, not least because it will be feeling the long-term effects of the 90s global mining crisis, which saw it fall out of fashion as an employer. In Canada, for example, 45% of the workforce is due to retire by 2015.”

He adds, however, that there is “no shortage of projects” in mining.

Recruiter.co.uk reported the plans to open this division in a February 2012 story detailing the firm’s having hit £1m earnings before interest and tax in 2011.
