Mon, 30 Jan 2012The French National Institute for Agricultural Research (L’Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique or INRA) is looking to recruit for 181 positions, which include 51 junior research scientists.

The scientist posts cover a number of disciplines, principally across biological and life sciences, but also including mathematics, statistics, sociology and economics.

Candidates to be placed in the roles across 13 different locations in France will already have a PhD, and according to the agency’s website, “are expected to be open-minded, adaptable and enjoy working in a team. In view of the global scale of the challenges faced, a real international culture is also essential”.The remaining positions are split between those directly involved in research, and support positions in areas such as IT, legal resources and logistics.

Applications for scientists are already open, closing at the end of February, while others open in late February, with a 27 March deadline.

Thierry Boujard, deputy HR director at INRA, says: “The excellence of the scientists recruited today will determine our ability tomorrow to face up to the major challenges of research in food, agriculture and the environment.”
