Brown appointed UK managing director of exec search GRS

Lucinda Brown has been named the new UK managing director of executive search consultancy GRS. Brown will be response for the company’s risk, legal, tax, insurance and interim businesses, leading a team of 80 consultants working out of offices in London and Brighton.

Brown founded GRS’s legal division three years ago and also went on to launch GRS’s French operations based in Paris. She was also part of the team that completed a management buy-out of the company in May last year.

Ken Brotherston, chief executive of GRS Group, said: “Lucinda has played a large part in growing GRS from a small risk recruiter based in Brighton, to a multi-million pound business operating on a global scale. As she begins to play a wider role in the strategic direction of the company, the rest of the UK business will benefit from her expertise and I am delighted to have her on the management team.”

Brown was promoted from the role of managing director of the legal team.

Southampton-based Marine Resources, a marine recruitment company, has appointed Katrina Verdon-Roe as consultant.

Market research, information, insight, planning and analysis industry recruiter Hasson Associates Recruitment has hired Nicky Geen as senior associate.

Interim management recruiter Interim Partners has hired Ray Nicholls as senior consultant for media practice, based at its London office, and Tom Legard, who joins the team in Harrogate as senior consultant for manufacturing practice.

Charterhouse Group International, which supplies services to the international recruitment and contract industry, has appointed Sarah Read as marketing manager.

Stewart Green and Matthew Deaville have joined Hemel Hempstead-based technical recruiter EPS ProTech as resourcers.

HR recruiter Artis HR has appointed Steven Morrissey as principal consultant. Morrissey joins the existing HR division to deliver senior appointments nationally and develop an existing high-profile client list.

Heather Spencer, who has been with rec-to-rec recruiter McCall for three-and-a-half years focusing on the London financial market, will now be concentrating on international recruitment within McCall. Spencer will focus on the Hong Kong, Singapore and the Asian markets.

Multi-sector recruiter First People Solutions Group (FPSG) has appointed Andrew Haldenby as associate group director for its operations across the North of England. Andrew will be focusing on expanding both FPSG’s Manchester and Leeds operations.

Andrew Wise has recently been promoted to manager of Blue Pelican Pharma, the pharmaceutical recruitment division of the Blue Pelican Group. Matthew Bishop has been promoted to manager of Blue Pelican Consulting’s telecoms advertising networks team.

Office support and sales recruiter Austin Banks has appointed Wendy Ward as key account manager, Sommer Lindley as senior consultant for the sales and marketing division and Dean Kociuba as consultant in the office support division.

Netsource Executive, a renewable energy and environment recruiter for middle management to board level positions, has hired David Pundick and Lauren Needoff as senior consultants to its renewable energy division.

Multi-sector recruitment consultancy Nigel Wright Recruitment has appointed Bob De-Wolf to strengthen the company’s presence in the Belgian consumer market. Joining the company’s international division, De-Wolf will be responsible for recruiting sales and marketing professionals for Belgian food and drink and consumer durables companies.

Umbrella company Parasol has promoted Bruce Hunter to the newly-created role of agency relationship manager.

Technical and engineering recruiter NES has made two appointment to its specialist IT division, NES IT. Dominic Hastings has been hired as business development manager and Victoria Ball as recruitment consultant in the Manchester-based office. Ball joins with seven years sales and business generation experience.

Education recruiter ITN Mark has made several appointments to its new head office in Manchester. Julie Turnock joins as PA, Cecile Olesky as compliance administrator and Jodie Edge as senior recruitment consultant. In addition, Sarah Harrison joins as consultant in the Birmingham branch, and Philip Kingdon as the new manager of North Home Counties.

Scotland and Northern Ireland-based life, pension and insurance recruiter JohnstonGreer has appointed Steven Johnston as consultant to its IFA desk and Marc O’Donnell as consultant for the general insurance market.

IT and technical recruiter Harvey Nash has appointed Ian Jordan to head up the consumer practice division. Rashpal Kaur Singh joins as director in the government and public services practice and Edith Udemezue joins as principal consultant in the life sciences practice.
