FINANCIALS: Randstad reports small rise in profits

Recruitment giant Randstad has reported a slight increase in gross profit year-on-year, according to results for Q3 2019.

The results reveal revenue of €6bn (£5.1bn), unchanged from Q3 2018, while GP was up 1%, from €1.19bn to €1.2bn, over the same period.

The group’s stand out performer was its Rest of the World segment, which saw revenue growth of 7% on the same quarter last year, with 19% and 28% growth reported respectively in India and Latin America.

However, revenue was down 14% in Germany, and in the UK it was down 2% on the same quarter last year.

CEO Jacques van den Broek said: “We continue to gain marketshare in several countries, in part driven by the successful progression of our digital strategy across the world. We experienced ongoing weakness in industrial-related sectors, while still identifying ample growth opportunities globally.”
