ActiveQuote creates 70 jobs in Cardiff

Cardiff-based comparison website provider and insurance broker ActiveQuote is to create 70 new jobs.

The BBC reports that the £2m expansion of the firm – located in Cardiff Bay – is backed by £400,000 from the Welsh government, will increase its workforce to 190, and will enable the firm to develop enhanced online quote-comparison services using artificial intelligence.

Meanwhile in Derry, Northern Ireland, tech firm Elemental Software is creating 10 jobs, with support from regional development agency Invest Northern Ireland.

The firm’s platform aims to makes it easier for health and social care-related professionals to refer people with health risks to community-based lifestyle interventions, measuring the impact of the referral so as to reduce demand in GP time and services and, ultimately, keep people out of hospital for longer.
