FAST 50 2015: RPO performance hits IT recruiters

Recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) companies taking marketshare contributed to a marked fall in the number of IT recruiters in this year’s Recruiter FAST 50, says Tim Evans, managing director of Boxington Corporate Finance, compilers of the definitive list of the fastest-growing private staffing companies in the UK.
Wed, 21 Jan 2015 | By Colin CottellRecruitment process outsourcing (RPO) companies taking market share contributed to a marked fall in the number of IT recruiters in this year’s Recruiter FAST 50, says Tim Evans, managing director of Boxington Corporate Finance, compilers of the definitive list of the fastest-growing private staffing companies in the UK.

The full FAST 50 list, sponsored by Hitachi Capital Invoice Finance, will be published in the February issue of Recruiter magazine, which will land on desks at the end of the week (22-24 January).

Explaining the fall from 18% of last year’s FAST 50 to just 10% this year, Evans says: “We attribute this to increased RPO and managed service provider presence taking turnover away from recruiters. Also RPOs are maturing and getting ever better [at what they do].”

Evans says that cost saving for clients is the biggest driver of this trend, which he says has seen companies such as Allegis Group, Alexander Mann Solutions and Cielo make inroads into the IT and associated finance sector. Only one IT recruiter, People Source Consulting, retains its place in the 2015 FAST 50 from last year.
