Recession is an excuse
In response to ‘Recruiters’ reactions to end of the recession claim’ (11 June), we hear lots of pessimism, and company directors and the government wanting to talk the economy down. But I believe it is just a smokescreen for firms within our industry to hide behind for poor performing staff and management. Over my three offices we have been averaging six new clients a month and have seen turnover continue to increase.

Vote for Let’s-Begin
Let’s-Begin gets nothing but praise from me (‘Fish4jobs partners Let’s- Begin’, 4 June). It is a very user-friendly website, with to-the-point training
courses, one of which was instrumental in my getting a new job.

Haul out the horrors
It’s about time someone investigated some of these rogue agencies that exploit drivers (‘Driving agencies investigated by government’, 5 June).
Drivers are often left with no choice but to accept the work. As head of driving for a reputable agency, I find it refreshing that something is being done about it.
