Banks to offer thousands more apprenticeships

As National Apprenticeship Week continues, skills minister John Hayes has announced that a number of major high street banks will significantly increase apprenticeship places.

INTERNATIONAL Australia: BW Penman enters APAC

Energy, consumer and medical industry recruiter BW Penman has opened a Asia Pacific base in Sydney, from where it will trade in the region under the name BW Penman PTY.

Appointments: Petsis Jones is Opus head of HR

Energy supplier Opus Energy has appointed Annamarie Petsis Jones as its new head of HR, learning and development.Petsis Jones joins from dental care provider Denticare where she had been the head of HR since 2008. Before this she spent five years working in employment law.Opus has created 100 new jobs in the first six months of FY2011, and is planning to introduce an apprenticeship scheme and a management development programme in the near future.
