US unemployment rate unchanged in August
The US’s unemployment rate was unchanged at 9.6%, according to the country’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Non-farm payrolls fell by 54,000 in August, which economists the centre for economics and business research (cebr) says reflects a large contraction in temporary government employment only partially offset by a better than an anticipated rise in the number of private sector jobs.
