With the wider use of MS Exchange and OWA for email, people can access their email from anywhere in the world, and now with the increase in Smartphones people are using these more and more often.
IT teams all over the world must be getting increasingly worried about data security, however, many companies still refuse to allow employees to access OWA on their smartphones (especially i-phones) yet the same employees can access their mail using any internet connection!
