Showcase for job victims of recession
A public relations agency is entering the recruitment market with a website that enables jobseekers to showcase themselves to employers in their own words.
Sarah Jenkins, account manager at sports and consumer PR agency Paul Ridley Limited, said the company came up with the idea for Creamofthe- Crunch.com as it knew a number of people who had lost their jobs for no other reason than the recession.
Jenkins told Recruiter: “There is a lot of talent on the market and it can be hard for these people to get interviews, so this gives them a chance to showcase themselves without going through a recruitment company.
“We’re ‘middle manning’ and will see how the service evolves.” Candidates agree in the terms and conditions that an interested employer can be sent their CV. The employer pays £20 (plus VAT) for the CV and then a fee of £980 (plus VAT) if a candidate is employed.
