Worker pay
Almost half of UK workers do not think their pay is meeting the cost of living, a new survey has revealed.
The TUC survey showed that 42% of workers think their workplace has unfair pay structures, while 26% feel they do not get the same pay as people doing similar jobs for other firms.
The survey also revealed that 46% of workers have an increased workload, 39% are more stressed, while almost one in three (30%) of respondents do not feel engaged by their employer.
Brendan Barber, TUC general secretary, said: “There are some challenging figures here for British employers with a quarter of the workforce saying they are not satisfied with their jobs and almost one in three saying that their employers do not engage with them.”
