Third sector profits from career moves
Candidates from financial and professional services are targeting the third sector seeking a career change, according to recruiters.
Stephen Perrett, managing director of third sector recruiter Execucare, told Recruiter he had seen a 200-300% increase in applications from these candidates.
Deborah Hockham, director of third sector recruiter forum3, told Recruiter applications were up 30% on last year. “With more people becoming disillusioned with what’s going on, particularly in the banking sector, it’s a great opportunity.”
However, it is unclear how many will convert into placements. “In the fundraising industry, 12 to 18 months ago they would be extremely interested in talking to these people, but that recruitment market is in recession,” said Perrett.
