Purchasing management
Purchasing managers could be required to source talent from low-cost countries, a procurement consultancy has claimed.
Robin Jackson, chief executive at ADR International, claims that procurement leaders may have to look to low-cost countries to build a “talent bank” of people who can be recruited at any time.
Jackson said: “Procurement teams will need more skills and will have to look for creative supply chain solutions. This could include sourcing more from low-cost countries and outsourcing some procurement operations.
“There’s no quick fix for what will become a long-term problem. Prepare your business for a blizzard of price increases and reduced margins and prepare your team for a significant increase in workload.”
