Jobsite hackers

Hackers have created an online tool to harvest the personal information of candidates from jobsites in the US.

A Russian gang, known as Phreak, is selling data such as names, email addresses, home addresses and current employers for $600 (£304).

Monster.com, AOL Jobs, Ajcjobs.com, Careerbuilder.com, Careermag.com, Computerjobs.com, Hotjobs.com, Jobcontrolcenter.com, Jobvertise.com and Militaryhire.com have all been targeted.

Jacques Erasmus, director of research at net security firm PrevX, told software news site The Register: "This is way beyond email harvesting tools. The utility is quite sophisticated and attempts to make sense of the data format found in CVs, extracting only useful information."
