Countdown to launch of Recruiter Awards

Ladies and gentlemen: it’s time to review your achievements of the past year and get your entries ready for Recruiter’s2009 Awards for Excellence!

New this year among the 28 categories are two new ones: Best Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy and Back Office Support Team. The previous category specifically aimed at honouring the top office recruitment firm has been expanded to become the Best Commercial Recruitment Firm Award.

Recruiter publisher Phil Hayne said: “Building on the success of the 2008 event, we look forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better. In the tougher climate, it is really important that we recognise the industry’s successes.”

And for the seventh year, Thomas International is once again the headline sponsor. “We are so pleased to have Thomas back on board again. We are very grateful for their support,” said Recruiter editor DeeDee Doke.

Doke went on to say: “Last year marked the beginning of a new era for the Awards in terms of recognising agencies for outstanding service to employees, clients and candidates alike. This year, we felt that it was crucial to acknowledge the significant effort being made by agencies to ‘give something back’ through innovative corporate social responsibility initiatives.

“However, the key to winning and being shortlisted for this award will be in how the CSR strategy relates to an reinforces the core business,” she said.

“The Award for Best Office Team is intended to recognise those often unsung heroes — the people who provide the glue and day-to-day support for fee-earners and management. We hope and expect that many an agency will put their back office teams forward for this special honour,” Doke said.

This year will again see honours awarded for the Best Small to Medium and the Best Large Recruitment Firms, Best Candidate Care, Best Client Care, and other awards in a variety of sectors.

For the second year, clients must nominate their preferred recruitment-to-recruitment company in the rec-to-rec category.

The Awards entry period will begin on 1 October. To make a nomination, visit www.recruiterawards.co.uk from that date and follow the directions.

The gala Awards presentation will be held on 28 April 2009 at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
