BUSINESS SUPPORT
The Professional Contractors Group (PCG), has launched PCG OneStop,
www.pcgonestop.org.uk, to provide freelancers and contractors with a simple way to set up and administer a limited company.
The initiative comes following a statement made by Gordon Brown in his Budget last month that freelancers and contractors working through a Managed Services Company (MSC) would be subject to increased levels of tax and National Insurance Contributions and be made responsible for any failing on the part of the MSC to remit tax payments to HMRC.
PCG OneStop provides members with a choice of OneStop packages - OneStop Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum - which enables self-employed workers to set up a limited company in one move with the resources they need to ensure that everything complies with legislation and the tax authorities.
Freelancers can choose which of the OneStop packages best suits their needs – added extras include accountancy advice, a review of client contracts, accountancy services, full book-keeping and VAT service as well as professional indemnity insurance.
Chris Bryce, deputy chairman of PCG, says: “Increasing pressure from the government and from clients would suggest that setting up as a limited company is the best option for self-employed workers today. “
PCG has selected three accountancy firms to support OneStop: JSA Group, SJD Accountancy and Danbro.
