Unemployed child syndrome: who you gonna call? (Not the police!)

A father called emergency services this week – after his son refused to get off the sofa and look for a job.

The Metro reports the man in question twice called 999 because his son said he couldn’t find a suitable job.

Sam, a Lincolnshire Police control room staff member, said: “This is definitely not appropriate use of an emergency line. Words of advice issued!

“No matter how much you may want your child to get a job, calling the police is not the answer.”

Perhaps the father should have called a recruiter instead. Who fancies setting up an emergency number for parents looking to get their offspring off their PlayStations and into gainful employment…? [If you do, let us know how you get on!]
