New BBC channel Scotland TV to create media and tech jobs

The BBC is to create 140 new jobs through the launch of a dedicated Scotland TV channel.

The corporation revealed yesterday that regulator Ofcom had given the green light to the BBC plans to launch the channel.

While the BBC revealed Scotland TV would create 80 journalism jobs, the director of BBC Scotland Donalda MacKinnon said yesterday that there would be 60 further jobs in technology.

The channel will start broadcasting next year.
