Intern Europe reaches settlement in sex discrimination case

A Northern Ireland-based recruiter has reached a settlement with a former worker, who brought a sex discrimination case relating to her pregnancy.

The BBC reports that Ruth Faulkner, who had worked as a work-placements officer at Belfast-based recruiter Intern Europe since June 2010, had asked the agency to work the same hours but in an alternative pattern during her maternity leave. The company opted to cut her hours.
