Jobs’ job application up for auction

A job application filled out by a rather famous entrepreneur is set be auctioned in the US this week by Boston-based RR Auction.

According to RR, the application in question is from the late Apple founder Steve Jobs, while he was enrolled at Reed College for the autumn term in 1972. He later dropped out to preserve his meagre funds, though he did stick around campus long enough to audit creative courses, including classes on Shakespeare, dance and calligraphy – which would help to shape his artistic worldview that influenced the innovation of the Macintosh computer.

The one-page questionnaire completed by Jobs in 1972 – name, ‘Steven jobs’; address, ‘reed college’; phone, ‘none’; and major, ‘english lit.’ – forms part of a Pop Culture auction from RR Auction, which lasts from 8-15 March.
