PwC plans to hire another 1,000 staff in Birmingham

The West Midlands’ accountancy sector is to be boosted to the tune of 1,000 new roles.

Birmingham’s Express and Star reports this due to professional services firm PwC plans to recruit another 1,000 staff once it moves into its new Birmingham headquarters at the £700m Paradise development in Birmingham city centre.

The paper adds the group revealed plans to take the whole of the One Chamberlain Square building to accommodate its “planned regional expansion and future market opportunities”.

The group already planned to move its existing 1,400-strong Birmingham team from Cornwall Court to 90,000 sq ft of the new building in the summer of 2019. Now it has extended its 20-year lease for the remaining 60,000 sq ft of office space over two and half floors, giving it the potential to accommodate an additional 1,000 staff.
