Northern Ireland’s Abbey Upholsterers to recruit 15

Northern Ireland’s manufacturing sector is to be boosted by 15 new jobs, thanks to expansion by a specialist upholsterer.

Abbey Upholsterers Specialist Joinery & Fit Out is expanding its manufacturing space and workforce in Carrickfergus, with support from regional development agency Invest Northern Ireland.

Due to the securing of new contracts, 15 new roles will be recruited at Abbey Upholsterers by 2019, with most of the roles created in the firm’s production division to support the business in targeting and delivering new projects outside Northern Ireland. The company also plans to extend its factory space at Trooperslane Industrial Estate by an additional 23,000 sq ft as part of its strategic development plans.

Invest NI has offered £97.5k to support the recruitment of the new jobs at the firm.
