Israeli companies have committed to creating 100 jobs in South Wales following a delegation of Israeli businesses visiting Wales to explore Israeli-Welsh trade and investment links.

The announcement, revealed in a UK Trade & Investment statement, showed firms planning to recruit include:

Newport-based SPTS Technologies, a Welsh specialist semiconductor equipment market company is to create 30 full-time research & development roles in Newport. Israeli company Orbotech has owned SPTS since August 2014.

Amiad Water Systems is to create five to 10 new jobs in the next year with potential for further expansion, while Sapiens International Corporation, a global provider of software solutions for the insurance industry, is expecting to grow its Cardiff-based workforce “substantially” over the next 12 months.

A UKTI spokesperson told Recruiter most of the remaining 60 jobs are likely to be created at Sapiens but the company does not have an exact figure for the numbers they will recruit.
