Jobs board totaljobs has successfully found a new role for jobseeker Jamie Mudle – the star of their #MillionPoundJamie marketing campaign.

In September this year totaljobs revealed it would be investing £1m in Mudle from Ilford, Essex, to star in an advertising campaign, devised and executed by integrated creative agency VCCP.

As 'the face' of totaljobs out-of-home advertising in and around London – the location of his dream job – Mudle appeared across the UK via social media and the totaljobs website to ensure reach and recognition.

The campaign also saw totaljobs use its tools and tech to match Mudle with relevant jobs, working with industry experts, including star of the BBC’s The Apprentice Claude Littner to hone his CV and interview skills, and give him a complete career makeover.

And all that effort has paid off, as totaljobs reports Jamie has landed a new role as a customer experience assistant and office support at contemporary British fashion label Finery.

The update also reveals Mudle is settling in well to his new role, drawing on all of his past experience, as well as making the most of the skills he has learned from the last two months, as he himself points out: “What I’ve learnt through working with totaljobs is how it’s so important to think through your application, your responses to questions, and how you present yourself in the interview and afterwards, trying to identify how you can do better next time.

“I had a very clear idea of the kind of jobs I thought would work for me and never believed I could get a role working for a fashion brand. Once I met the Finery team I was so impressed by their passion for the brand – their enthusiasm was infectious and I wanted to get involved. The most important thing for me was to find an opportunity where I could really see myself thriving and growing with the role, and my position at the Finery offers just that – as a start-up in the early stages of growth, there’s huge potential for me to get involved.”

Luca Marini, founder and chief operating officer at the Finery, added he thought the campaign would give Jamie great insight into the operations of an e-commerce company. “No doubt he will progress to managing a team of his own soon enough,” he added.
