Thu, 27 Oct 2016The European Commission has cleared the way for recruitment giant Randstad’s acquisition of Monster, with the transaction now expected to be completed in the next few days.

In a statement released this morning, Randstad said it had received merger control clearance from the commission for its acquisition of Monster. This means the final regulatory hurdle has been cleared, with respect to the proposed deal announced back in August.

Now that approval has been acquired, Randstad said that it expects the transaction to be completed within a few business days after a majority of Monster’s shares are tendered.

The tender offer is scheduled to expire on 28 October 2016 at midnight, New York City time, unless further extended. Randstad also confirmed that its offer of $3.40 (£2.78) is full and final and will not be increased.
