JobsOutlook: Most employers plan to recruit more perm staff

Wed, 24 Feb 2016

More than eight in 10 businesses plan to hire more permanent staff, despite growing concerns around UK economic conditions, according to the latest JobsOutlook survey by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC).

The February 2016 survey of more than 600 employers found 82% of businesses plan to recruit more permanent staff in the next quarter. But 17% say they feel economic conditions have worsened – almost double the percentage back in September (9%).

The data also reveals 95% of businesses say they are operating close to full capacity, while 90% report needing temporary workers to provide ‘key strategic skills’, and 58% to ‘respond to growth’.
