Car, camping and cycling retailer Halfords is to take on 600 trainees across the UK over the next 12 months.
In a statement, released earlier this week, the retailer announced the move will see recruits complete three weeks’ intense training.
Trainees will gain Halfords’ gear 1 training, a retail level 1 certificate, an employability & personal development certificate, as well as level 1 or 2 in Maths & English. A level 1 is equivalent to grades D to G in GCSE Maths or English, while level 2 represents a to C.
The scheme is open to people who are currently unemployed, long-term unemployed and NEETS (not in education, employment or training).
