FROM DECEMBER 2015'S RECRUITER MAGAZINE

Toby Babb, director of finance and technology recruiter Harrington Starr, advises All Blacks skipper Richie McCaw on possible career moves following the Rugby World Cup.

After a world record 148 caps for the world’s greatest ever sports team the All Blacks (in which time they boasted an incredible 88.5% win ratio), captain Richie McCaw became the leader of the first team to win back-to-back Rugby World Cups and became sport’s greatest ever captain at the tender age of just 34. How do you find a career that could come as close to every New Zealander’s ultimate dream?

What next? Is Living Legend a viable career path? Superman needs a makeover, it’s a role Richie has been living for a decade already. Time for a new Bond? He’s proved he’s indestructible and has all the credentials.

Just maybe though there is another, softer route for him after 14 years of being kicked in the head. He was voted in the ‘Mega Kiwi Sex Survey’ to be the most desirable man in New Zealand. To preserve the All Black legacy, maybe he should be sent out to stud?

The next generation of Richie McCaws may just edge that win ratio up to 100%. Long live Richie V2 — he deserves it!
