Indian restaurant owner disqualified for hiring illegal workers

The owner of Hertfordshire Indian restaurant Ali Baba, who employed two illegal workers, has been disqualified from being a company director for six years.

The owner of Hertfordshire Indian restaurant Ali Baba, who employed two illegal workers, has been disqualified from being a company director for six years.

The Insolvency Service announced yesterday Mohammed Zaheedul Islam Miah was found in June last year to be employing two illegal workers during a visit from Home Office immigration officers. 

The company was issued with a £20k fine, which remained outstanding when the business was liquidated in January this year.

The disqualification is effective from 22 December.
