FINANCIALS: CDI sees fall in revenue and operating loss

US engineering and IT recruiter CDI has announced a 17.3% decrease in revenue for the third quarter of this year, as compared to last year, and an operating loss of US$22.1m (£14.5m).

US engineering and IT recruiter CDI has announced a 17.3% decrease in revenue for the third quarter of this year, as compared to last year, and an operating loss of US$22.1m (£14.5m). 

The firm’s financial statement covering the three months to 30 September, released today, show revenue of $244.7m, compared to $295.7m in the same period last year.

The firm made an operating loss of $22.1m, compared to an operating profit of $8.5m last year. 

Gross profit fell from $54.4m in Q3 2014 to $46.8m this quarter. The statement also reveals CDI incurred $566k in restructuring costs. 

CDI chief executive and president Scott Freidheim said in the statement the firm faced “macro-economic” challenges, though did not offer further details.
