Staffing services, outsourcing, training and employability organisation Staffline Group has acquired Northern Ireland-based Diamond Recruitment Group.

Staffline chief executive Andy Hogarth told Recruiter the acquisition, for which he could not disclose terms, would see a rebranding of Staffline’s Ireland operations.

It’s welfare to work arm would be rebranded People Plus, as it is throughout the UK, while its recruitment arm would be rebranded as Diamond.

Diamond specialises in placing temporary and permanent workers in multiple sectors. According to a Staffline statement, it is one of the biggest recruiters in Northern Ireland, placing 2,000 workers a day from its candidate pool of 59,000.

The acquisition is in line with Staffline's strategy to expand geographically and will accelerate the growth of the existing Staffline Ireland division, opened in 2013.

Hogarth said the aim was to grow Diamond now, as it continues to seek further deals and investments.

The acquisition is expected to be earnings neutral this year and is being funded from Staffline’s existing bank facility.
