US professional consultancy and staffing firm Robert Half International has reported a third quarter net income of US$97m (£63m) up from $85m in the same period last year.

A company financial statement, released yesterday afternoon and covering the three months to 30 September, shows revenue also increased – from $1.22bn to $1.31bn.

In the statement, chairman and chief executive Harold Messmer Jr said improving labour markets, particularly in the US, contributed to higher demand for the company’s services.

Company subsidiary Protiviti, a business consultancy, had an “outstanding” quarter, he added, with revenue up 23% year-on-year when adjusted for currency.
