Indian authorities have been overwhelmed with 2.3m applications for only 368 low-level government jobs, the BBC reports. 

Prerequisites for the roles, in the populous state of Uttar Pradesh, include primary school qualifications and the ability to ride a bicycle. 

Applications were received from graduates, post-graduates and some people with doctorate degrees.

An official reportedly said it would take four years to interview all candidates.
