Online professional networking platform LinkedIn has acquired Canadian recruitment software provider Careerify.
Tue, 17 Mar 2015Online professional networking platform LinkedIn has acquired Canadian recruitment software provider Careerify.

The deal was announced in a blog posted on LinkedIn by Careerify founder and chief executive Harpaul Sambhi.

He said: “We decided to join LinkedIn due to what we lacked – massive scale.”

Toronto-based Careerify, founded in 2009, provides talent acquisition, employee referral, internal mobility and employer branding software.

It scans employees’ social network connections to help businesses locate candidates.

Sambhi said: “As we work with LinkedIn, Careerify will no longer focus its efforts on internal mobility and employer branding. We’ll focus purely on further improving our employee referral software for existing customers, and will not be taking on new customers.”

A statement from LinkedIn said it hoped the acquisition would allow it to “accelerate” efforts to connect people with opportunities.
