A statement from the Welsh government, which will be supporting the £59.5m project with a £4.5m investment, says the new centre in Wentloog near Newport will supply stores in south Wales and the south west of England, creating 414 jobs from graduate level to senior management and operational roles.

The statement adds the construction of the centre could result in the opening of up to 10 new stores in Wales over the next five years with the potential to create a further 500 jobs.

Construction work has already begun and it is expected the centre will be fully operational in the first quarter of 2017.
