FINANCIALS: AMN Healthcare sees 23% rise in profits

US healthcare recruiter AMN Healthcare said gross profit was up 23% to $154.5m (£123.9m) for the three months to 31 September 2016 compared to the same period in the previous year.

US healthcare recruiter AMN Healthcare said gross profit was up 23% to $154.5m (£123.9m) for the three months to 31 September 2016 compared to the same period in the previous year.

Revenue was also up 23% to $472.6m, while adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 27% to $58.1m in Q3 2016 on the corresponding quarter of 2015.

AMN president and chief executive Susan Salka said: “The demand for healthcare professionals and workforce solutions is strong today and is expected to continue to grow as turnover and vacancies persist at historical high levels.

“Our results this quarter reflect a positive market environment but are also a testament to the team’s outstanding execution as we partner with our clients to help them manage their significant labour challenges and enable them to stay focused on delivering quality patient care. 

“The current demand levels, indicators of our clients’ future needs and our leading market position provide us with optimism heading into 2017.”
