Firms create 90+ jobs in Belfast

US web security firm WhiteHat Security and Belfast e-learning company Logicearth Learning Services will create over 90 new jobs in Belfast, according to a statement from Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI).

US web security firm WhiteHat Security is to create 80 new jobs as a result of a Threat Research Centre (TRC), customer support and software engineering operation.

Enterprise, trade and investment minister Arlene Foster said the new Belfast operation “will recruit 50 security engineers, 20 software engineers and 10 customer support staff over the next three years”.

Invest NI has offered the company an employment grant of £400k. WhiteHat Security will also receive £80k support under the agency’s Skills Growth Programme to develop its Belfast team.

The Department for Employment and Learning has also offered support of up to £240k under the Assured Skills Programme, towards pre-employment training costs.

The California-based firm provides web application security services to a blue-chip customer base that includes top e-commerce, financial services and healthcare companies. 

In other job news, Logicearth is recruiting 11 new members of staff and has been offered £99k support from Invest NI.

The company currently employs eight people delivering classroom and online training, and learning consultancy to large corporate clients.

The new jobs include graphic and instructional designers, as well as project and quality managers.

Logicearth is based in Ormeau Business Park, Belfast.
