IT recruitment firm Nakama Group has said it is confident the digital market is showing signs of recovery after reporting a swing to profit.

The AIM-listed recruitment consultancy, which works across UK, Europe, Asia and Australia, says revenue in the six months to the end of September increased by 29% to £11.1m, while pretax profit came in at £222,000 compared with a loss in the same period last year of £25,000.

Net fee income in the six months rose by 27% to £2.71m, while permanent recruitment fees were up by 32% to £1.33m.

Revenue across the UK increased by 32%, following increased demand for both contract and permanent business.

Nakama says it has improved its financial position overall, and began to generate momentum during the period. It adds that it is optimistic for the second half, and expects to further grow its net fee income.
