Insurance, accounting and resources recruiter the Andersen Partnership has acquired executive search firm SearchBank China.

Based in Shanghai and managed by recruitment veteran Adrian Hawkins, SearchBank has offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing and Chong Qing.

Tom Birch, who previously managed Stirling Andersen in Perth, has been promoted to manage the brand in China and will hire more than 40 consultants over the coming months.

The recent deregulation of China’s insurance market, and the presence of many existing clients, have created strong demand in the region.

Andersen says it is in advanced talks for several more acquisitions, and plans to open offices in Dublin and Kuala Lumpur early next year.
