Global consulting firm Work Group has announced an unaudited half-yearly gross profit from continuing operations of £2.38m for the period to 30 June, down on the £3.02m for the same period last year.

In a statement, group chairman Simon Howard said turnaround in the UK had been slower than anticipated and that was reflected in the results.

However, US revenue growth had significantly increased, by 58%, and the US and Hong Kong had “returned to profitability” with a combined operating profit of £109k, compared to a £191k loss in the same period last year.
