National Minimum Wage consultation opens

A consultation has been launched to review the National Minimum Wage (NMW).

The consultation, which opened yesterday [3 July], is being carried out by the Low Pay Commission. It will look at the different NMW rates; consider whether changes can be made to the apprentice rate to make it simpler and improve compliance; and review the conditions that need to be in place to allow the value of NMW to increase in real terms.    

Parties will be able to submit evidence to the consultation until 26 September.
