Indian CBI busts rail recruitment scam in Bangalore

The Indian Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested 13 students in connection with a railway recruitment scam in Bangalore on Sunday (29 June).

The Indian Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested 13 students in connection with a railway recruitment scam in Bangalore on Sunday (29 June).   

CBI officials raided locations across the country after examination papers were leaked for the post of an assistant locomotive engineer. Those involved were allegedly charging 5 lakh (£4,900) from each candidate for leaking one paper.

The others accused in the case are a division personnel officer and a chief vigilance officer (both from South Western Railway), an advocate and a private person.
 
Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused, where cash and other incriminating documents were recovered.
