Who would win in a fight, Chuck Norris or Godzilla? Is a jaffa cake a cake or a biscuit? What is the number of people travelling on the tube per day?

These are just three of 25 questions revealed by jobs and career community Glassdoor in its second annual list of ‘25 Tough Interview Questions (2014) – UK Edition’.

The list has been compiled by thousands of recent interview questions shared by UK job candidates on Glassdoor, and is designed to help UK jobseekers prepare for challenging or unexpected questions that may arise during a job interview.

Joe Wiggins, senior jobs community manager at Glassdoor, says the questions are “designed to test a candidate’s values”, whilst some are simply “lobbed in like a hand grenade to see how a candidate reacts under pressure”.

He said that in many cases there is “no right answer”, however, there may well be a right way to respond. What the interviewer would be looking for is to “hear a candidate’s thought process out loud”.

A full list of companies, and their interview questions can be found on the Glassdoor website.
