Australia: Bundoora manufacturer to create 55 jobs

Fifty-five manufacturing jobs are to be created at Bundoora in Victoria, Australia, with funding set aside to help the town recover after carmaker Ford ceases local production.

The A$3m (£1.7m) grant comes from the Melbourne North Innovation and Investment Fund set up by the state and federal governments and Ford Australia.

It will assist Westfalia Automotive Australia to set up a A$6.1m state-of-the-art towbar design centre and manufacturing plant.

The company is expected to create 55 positions by June 2017. This will include 44 production workers, including technicians and specialists in robot welding, laser cutting and coating systems. It will also employ five engineers and a further six office staff in management, finance, distribution and sales.
