Oxford International, the IT and engineering recruiter, is to receive a €16m (£13m) investment into its Cork-based European headquarters, which will create more than 50 new jobs over the next 18 months.

Supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, the investment will nearly double the number of employees to 130 at Oxford International’s Penrose Quay facility in the centre of Cork.

Barry O’Leary, chief executive officer of Ireland’s inward investment promotion agency IDA Ireland, said: “Today’s announcement that Oxford International is expanding its operations in Cork and more than doubling its workforce here with the creation of 56 jobs is great news for Cork and the South-West region.”

Oxford has already begun its staffing drive and aims to have the total 130 full-time employees on staff by Easter 2016.
