Multi-sector recruiter Barker Ross has launched the Barker Ross Training Academy, which aims to take people under 25 years old off benefits and into work.

Working in partnership with local businesses, the Academy is building tailored training courses to help people take on particular vacant roles.

To get onto a course people must be receiving Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)/Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or income support and be over the age of 19.

Currently the Academy offers training in the areas of warehouse and logistics, food manufacturing and customer service. Barker Ross ran a trial period for the Academy, which saw 265 go through the process and over 500 being interviewed to go onto courses.
