Have you ever been down on your luck in the job market?

If you have, then spare a thought for Piers Morgan, who, having had his CNN talk show cancelled because of low-ratings, has been offered a slightly less glamorous role.

The offer came from former Manchester United defender Gary Neville just hours after he and other former team-mates bought non-league Salford City FC.

When news of the deal broke, serial tweeter Morgan was quick to put himself forward to lead the side.

"You'll be needing a manager then @GNev2? #SalfordCity," the former Mirror editor tweeted.

However, Manchester United legend Neville tweeted back: "You can be Kit man!!"
