Mon, 27 Jan 2014An online advertisement inviting Romanians to join a £1.5bn UK government scheme for young Britons appears to have been taken down following media scrutiny.

According to The Sunday Times, the advertisement from job agency Extern on Romanian employment website Tjobs encouraged Romanians to apply for the UK apprenticeships, which are aimed at getting young Britons back into work.

Several companies mentioned in the ad, including Chelsea FC and Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants, told The Sunday Times they were not aware of its existence and their names were later removed from the wording.

The ad now seems to have disappeared from the site entirely, with Recruiter unable to find any trace of it in a web search today.

However, it is still listed on Extern’s Facebook page, with the agency telling prospective applicants: ‘Start a career in London! 2014 will be your year!’
