Global workforce solutions specialist de Poel has opened a new office in the Netherlands in Sittard, in the Southern region of Limburg.

This is led by managing director Raymond Wijnands, who joined the firm in February having previously worked for staffing agencies Tempo Team and Vedior (now part of Randstad).

His office will work across all business sectors in the country and includes a further six employees, with two hires due to be brought on board who will work across all business sectors in the country.

Recruiter.co.uk reported in February this year that de Poel was planning to expand into Western Europe and the US, then promising further details shortly after. A spokesperson for the company was not immediately able to confirm how plans for the US are progressing when questioned by recruiter.co.uk.

The website of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency lists key industries in Limburg as agro-food, automotives, chemicals, contact centres, high tech systems, life sciences/healthcare, logistics and solar energy.

Matthew Sanders, de Poel’s chief executive officer, says that easy access across Benelux nations and to Germany was one reason for the choice of office location, alongside the Netherlands having high level of temporary working and “similar employment patterns for temporary workers to those in the UK”.
